Job Summary
Barista at PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is responsible for crafting hot/cold beverages and food items, educating customers on drinks, recommending based on preferences, and upselling items. Role requires excellent customer service, knowledge of brewing equipment, cash handling, accurate order taking, maintaining cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. The position emphasizes providing an outstanding guest experience, memorizing recipes/processes, operating POS, and supporting growth within the company toward larger roles at a new Houston location opening in Q1 2023.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress, including hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Punctual and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Open availability and can work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Team player with a strong desire to make our customers happy and to provide excellent service
- Current Food Handler's Certificate/ServSafe or must obtain one within one week of hire
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- High school diploma; relevant training is a plus
