Job Summary
Prepare specialty espresso and coffee beverages using premium recipes and high-end equipment while delivering warm, personalized service in a luxury hotel breakfast environment. Serve breakfast cocktails, including Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, in accordance with responsible alcohol service standards and liquor laws. Verify guest identification when required, maintain proper care and cleanliness of espresso equipment and bar tools, and manage station set-up, side work, and breakdown. Monitor inventory of coffee and beverage supplies to communicate replenishment needs to management. Maintain positive communication with service and kitchen staff, report guest comments and complaints to the manager, and complete tasks and projects delegated by the Restaurant Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be over 18 years of age
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
- Knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee beverages, and basic beverage presentation
- Knowledge of wine, beer, and breakfast cocktails, including Mimosas and Bloody Mary's
- Understanding of responsible alcohol service practices and applicable liquor laws
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required alcohol service certification in accordance with state and local regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of how to assist customers and meet their needs effectively
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Ability to do basic problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under stressful circumstances
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes, customer flow, environments, and tasks
- Ability to engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Barista or preparing & serving alcoholic beverages experience
