Job Summary
Operate espresso machines and maintain beverage stations while preparing coffee, tea, and specialty drinks to brand standards. Process guest orders accurately through the on-board POS system and manage beverage inventory, conducting counts and investigating variances as directed. Oversee beverage service team performance, correct service deficiencies, and partner with the Bar Supervisor to implement corrective action plans based on guest feedback. Ensure the bar area remains clean, sanitized, and fully stocked while driving sales performance through active upselling. Maintain a professional demeanor as a company ambassador and report any equipment damage immediately. Requires proficiency in English and Japanese, two years of hospitality experience, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' experience as a barista in a large hospitality setting
- Proficiency in the English and Japanese language, both in verbal and written communication
- Understanding of the foundation of guest service
- Ability and willingness to deliver outstanding service to our guests
- Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities
- Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality
- Ability to continuously surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience
- Commitment to establish and maintain courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment
- This position involves regular physical activity, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving heavy items in line with operational requirements
Desired Qualifications
- A Certification in barista techniques, which attests proficiency in coffee preparation and service
- The ability to create latte art
- A comprehensive understanding of coffee and its various forms
- Proficiency in operating coffee machines and grinders
