Job Summary
Greet customers, learn their names and favorite drinks, and build personal relationships while maintaining a pleasant disposition and sense of urgency. Prepare and serve a variety of drinks and food to the highest standards, operating espresso machinery and tasting coffee or tea every shift to develop your palate and troubleshoot product issues. Manage cash handling and register policies to contribute to store profitability, identify customer needs for up-selling, and offer ideas to improve operations. Maintain a clean and professional appearance, guide new hires, and perform other duties as assigned. This role requires standing and walking for shifts, basic math and computer skills, and fluency in English. Jaho roasts and serves amazing coffee from around the world daily and sources wines at night.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Possess a current ServSafe Certification (or obtain one upon joining Jaho)
- Basic math and computer skills
- Stand and walk - must be able to stand for shifts and move about the café
- Use of hands - operate espresso machinery
- Taste/Smell - ability to detect and perceive the smell of coffee
- Talk/hear - frequently communicates with customers
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move heavy weights
- At times may be required to work more than 40 hours a week
