Job Summary

Take customer orders, describe menu items, and suggest products while preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, pastries, and cookies. Educate guests on coffee beans and brewing methods, operate the POS system for payments, and ensure all equipment is clean and stocked. Clean preparation areas, tables, and floors while maintaining a safe environment and reporting maintenance needs. Work in varying temperatures and high-volume periods, adhering to sanitation and safety standards. Maintain a calm demeanor during busy shifts to support the team.

Required Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • One year customer service experience
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic computational ability
  • Knowledgeable about basic function of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
  • Strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F)
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four (4) hours
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings
  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel

Desired Qualifications

  • One to three years food service experience
