Job Summary
Full-Time Barista at Fresh Baguette bakery cafes in the Washington, D.C./Maryland/Virginia area. Provide friendly and prompt customer service, handle cash and credit transactions, offer product recommendations, bake a variety of breads and baked goods, prepare products for the next day’s baking schedule, organize and maintain storage areas, pack away deliveries, set up inviting bread displays, and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the baking station. Build and nurture long-term relationships with customers and contribute to a warm, inviting atmosphere. Requires High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year of experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, English fluency, ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs, and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Shifts include opening 6AM-1PM, mid 9AM-4PM, and closing 1PM-7PM, with 5 days a week including weekends. Competitive hourly pay ($19-$21/hour plus tips) with benefits such as PTO, health/dental insurance after 90 days for full-time, 401K match, employee discount, and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Open Availability to work Monday-Sunday
- Availability to work peak busy periods including Holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas
- Physical Requirements: standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending/reaching/movement in a retail environment
- Experience working at a café, bakery, or in hospitality is a plus
- At least 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment is required
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation to work
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
- Strong customer-service orientation
- Leadership experience is a plus
