Job Summary
Craft espresso-based drinks and other menu items with precision and consistency while operating coffee machines and grinders. Take customer orders accurately, handle transactions using the point-of-sale system, and provide product knowledge and recommendations. Maintain stock levels, restock inventory, and follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean workspace. Collaborate with team members to support smooth daily operations and resolve customer inquiries professionally. Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays in a new San Diego coffee shop.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role
- Knowledge of different coffee brewing techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and preparation
- Ability to handle cash transactions and use POS systems
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Obtaining a food handler's permit
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Team player with a positive and friendly attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing role preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment operation is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude with a passion for delivering excellent customer service
