Job Summary
Teach hands-on and classroom instruction in haircutting, shaving, safety, sanitation, and client service while preparing lesson plans that align with state curriculum and real-world salon practices. Model professionalism, ethics, and accountability daily to foster a trauma-informed, inclusive, and recovery-supportive learning environment. Ensure compliance with New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists regulations and maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and student evaluations. Participate in program meetings, curriculum reviews, and professional development to support students rebuilding lives through vocational training.
Required Qualifications
- Active New Mexico Barber Instructor License
- Three or more years of professional barbering experience
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching or training experience
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or recovery-oriented education
