Job Summary
Support bartenders by stocking and replenishing liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and garnishes throughout service. Maintain ice levels, keg changes, draft lines, and beverage stations to ensure the bar stays ahead of volume during peak periods. Complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking sidework to ensure service readiness while following responsible alcohol service, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Respond to guest inquiries professionally and attend pre-meetings to stay informed on menu and beverage expectations. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, continuous standing, and full mobility within the Atterbury Hotel's two kitchens, Catering, Drafting Room Restaurant, and Concierge Lounge.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Must meet state and federal minimum age requirements for handling and serving alcohol
- Basic knowledge of bar operations, beverage products, and hospitality standards
- Vision ability to clearly see tickets, product labels, written instructions, and survey the bar in dimly lit conditions
- Manual coordination to handle glassware, operate bar equipment, and carry cases, kegs, and loaded trays
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs. including kegs, cases of product, ice bins, glass racks, and small equipment up to 75% of the time
- Full range of mobility with the ability to travel up to 300 feet on a regular basis during the shift
- Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift
- Hearing ability to communicate with guests, supervisors, and staff
- Vision ability to ensure product and service standards are met
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of guest service problems, including stressful and emotional situations
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, or service role preferred
