Job Summary
Barback Prep role supporting the bar program by preparing house-made syrups, infusions, juices, garnishes, shrubs, and batch cocktails according to standardized recipes. Responsibilities include producing garnishes and bar components to specification, knife work for citrus/fruit prep, labeling and storing items, maintaining a clean and organized prep station, monitoring par levels, following food safety/sanitation guidelines, assisting with receiving and organizing ingredients, tracking waste, and communicating ingredient availability to bartenders and kitchen staff. Requires strong organization, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; prior bar/kitchen/prep experience is preferred but not required; Bassett and Food Handler certifications or the ability to obtain them are required within specified timeframes. Location: Chicago, IL.
