Job Summary
Barback responsibilities include basic prep work behind the bar (refilling ice bins, restocking beer/liquor, cutting garnishes), changing empty kegs in the keg room, moving full kegs, maintaining a clean and tidy bar, organizing barware, and providing polite customer service. Requires ability to communicate clearly with guests and staff, perform multiple tasks, and lift up to 200 pounds; may require working nights, weekends, and holidays; alcohol awareness certification/food service permit may be required by local/state authorities.
Required Qualifications
- Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations
- Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders
- Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently
