Job Summary
The Barback role involves performing various bar prep tasks such as restocking supplies, changing kegs, and maintaining cleanliness in the bar area. Candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and effective communication while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The position requires physical strength to lift heavy items and the ability to handle food safely. Qualifications include fluency in English, experience in food service, and an alcohol awareness certification or food handler card.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least age 18 or older, depending on state regulations
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Food service experience with general knowledge of bar/nightclub operations
- Fluent in English, other languages preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card
