Job Summary
Bar Server is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service in a bar/lounge, greeting guests, taking accurate beverage and light food orders, delivering drinks promptly, and upselling premium items. The role requires knowledge of bar menu items, cocktails, wines, and beers, strong guest-relations skills, and adherence to responsible service protocols. The server maintains cleanliness, restocks stations, enters orders in POS, processes payments, and handles cash/room charges. Requires 2 years of bartender experience in a high-volume setting, high school education or equivalent, and TABC certification. Must demonstrate professional appearance, excellent communication, multitasking ability, attention to detail, and comfort with POS systems. Hours vary by departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school education, GED, or equivalent experience
- 2 years bartender experience in a high-volume restaurant and/or hotel
- TABC Certification is required
- Must have alcohol beverages and wine knowledge
- Must be able to multitask
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and behavior
- Proficient technology skills on the POS system
- Ability to balance end-of-shift receipts
- Must be able to perform duties safely and professionally
