Job Summary
Bar Operator (Machine Operator I) on the weekend shift who sets up and operates various machining equipment, reads blueprints and job routings, verifies measurements, and maintains a safe, clean work environment. Responsibilities include reading and applying measurements, setting up machines (mills, lathes, saws, punches, tube benders), loading/unloading materials, reading blueprints and schematics, and assisting co-workers. Must be able to operate computer for setup, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform tasks with attention to safety and quality; overtime and rotation of tasks may occur. Strong interpersonal communication and ability to read tapes, blueprints, and paperwork are essential. Prior metal fabrication experience and familiarity with basic hand tools are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience with basic hand tools.
- Previous experience in metal fabrication.
