Job Summary

Develop drink recipes, recommend pricing, and manage inventory levels for beer, liquor, and wine while overseeing cost control procedures. Coordinate ordering of alcohol and mixers, conduct pre-shift meetings, and ensure cleanliness of the bar area. Manage department members through interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and discipline; oversee bar procedures for off-site catering and large party events. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state liquor laws, open and close the department, and greet members to ensure satisfaction. Available to work flexible hours and complete required certifications including Food Handling and Alcohol Awareness Training.

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate from college, technical school or accredited facility
  • three to six months related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination and experience
  • Food Handling Certification
  • Alcohol Awareness Training
  • Must have open availability
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to company values
  • Exceptional personal hygiene
  • Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding
  • Possesses up-to-date knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Bev Spot Inventory management tool
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and POS system
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and implement strategic planning
  • Must have open availability

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Business Administration, or a related field
  • Previous Managerial Experience
  • Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g. POSITOUCH and MICROS) and on-line reservation systems, inventory controls, scheduling/labor management, and financial forecasting
  • Experience in purchasing, inventory management, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace
  • Excellent leadership ability including skills to communicate and express ideas and directives clearly to associates
  • Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Ability to create high-performance teams and to be a strong team player
  • Possesses up-to-date knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
