Job Summary
Manage a team of up to 8 bar staff, train new and seasonal employees, and plan shifts to ensure efficient operations. Monitor wage spend, balance tills, and oversee cash management while carrying out regular line cleans and maintaining bar and cellar standards. Implement changes to increase sales and profit, manage stock levels through internal takes and deliveries, and adhere to licensing and safety legislation. Serve on the bar, greet customers, and resolve complaints efficiently. Work Fridays, Saturdays, and 31st December, with hours varying between 10 and 35 per week, plus a discretionary productivity bonus. Lead by example to keep staff motivated in a vibrant comedy and music venue environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18+
- Must be available to work weekends and evenings, including 31st December
- Must be available to work on Fridays & Saturdays and 31st December
- Must be confident
- Must be hardworking
- Must be good at working under pressure
- Must be capable and confident dealing with any issues that occur
- Must be able to make quick, reasonable decisions to solve potential problems
- Must be able to capably manage a team of up to 8 bar staff
- Personal Licence holder
- History of people management
- Good verbal communicator
- Attention to detail
- Experience in dealing with the general public
- Sound decision making / problem solving / information processing ability
- Ability & enthusiasm to drive sales
- Previous experience in hospitality and bar work
- A confident and friendly personality and the ability to build strong working relationships with staff and rapport with customers
- The ability to cope serving on a busy bar, managing and motivating staff
