Job Summary
Lead management floor shifts and deliver exceptional hospitality throughout every service while partnering with leadership to continuously improve guest experience and restaurant operations. Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing bar team; create and implement seasonal cocktails and beverage features. Manage liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage inventory and ordering; monitor beverage cost, inventory variance, and operational performance. Build strong vendor relationships and source new products; ensure recipe consistency, beverage quality, and responsible alcohol service. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment. Lead one of Ann Arbor's premier beverage programs at Aventura, a lively tapas bar in Downtown Ann Arbor known for handcrafted cocktails and warm hospitality.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of leadership experience within a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and responsible alcohol service
- Experience managing beverage inventory, ordering, cost controls, and vendor relationships
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable using restaurant POS systems, scheduling software, inventory platforms, and basic reporting tools
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time while actively managing dining room, bar, and service operations
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the restaurant, including dining rooms, bar areas, service stations, storage areas, patios, and kitchen support spaces
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, including cases of liquor, beer, wine, glassware, and restaurant supplies
- Ability to perform repetitive motions including typing, writing, using POS systems, handling glassware, and completing administrative work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, cleaning chemicals, and crowded service areas
- Ability to safely navigate stairs, uneven surfaces, and tight spaces while maintaining awareness of guests, staff, and operational needs
