Job Summary

Perform conscious sedation and MAC anesthesia on outpatient and inpatient cases, manage patient airways, and oversee emergence and recovery. Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments, obtain informed consent, and administer medications. Release patients from the post-anesthesia care area and respond to emergencies using airway management and cardiac life support techniques. Lead quality initiatives and collaborate with medical staff to promote cost-effective care. Requires English proficiency, ACLS/BLS/PALS certification, and at least two years of independent experience. Monday through Friday schedule with flexible PRN availability.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor
  • Successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor
  • At least two years of independent experience
  • ACLS/BLS/PALS certification
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, patients, patient's family and other employees of organization
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ensures and adheres to strict confidentiality when handling patient information, according to the HIPAA Privacy Act and hospital policy and procedure regarding confidentiality
  • Complies with all information security practices
  • Takes annual HIPAA compliance exam
