Job Summary
Prepare function rooms, set tables, and garnish dishes before serving meals to banquet patrons. Ladle soup, portion desserts, and suggest beverages while observing diners to address requests and confirm meal completion. Clear and reset tables between courses, brew coffee, and adhere to resort and safety standards. May serve liquor and work nights, weekends, and holidays in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be 18 years of age to serve liquor in the State of Florida
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers
- Ability to stand
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to walk
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to taste and smell
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to serve from a full tray
- Must be occasionally lift and/or up to 25 pounds
