Job Summary
Set up and service all assigned banquet functions while maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming. Approach every guest and employee encounter with a friendly, service-oriented demeanor, responding promptly to complaints and accidents by referring to management when necessary. Read banquet event orders, familiarize yourself with assigned menus, and clear spaces after functions to ensure equipment and supplies are stored and restocked properly. Maintain the banquet store room, comply with all safety regulations including fire exits and alcohol awareness certification, and attend meetings as required by management.
Required Qualifications
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
