Job Summary
Banquet Sous Chef responsible for leading kitchen operations for banquets and buffets, sets up hot and breakfast hot foods, manages line and prep cooks, trains hourly staff, addresses kitchen issues promptly, and ensures health and safety standards. Roles include planning special occasion menus, developing visually appealing plating designs, coordinating vendor orders, maintaining equipment and stations, and collaborating with culinary management to multi-task and work efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED - a plus but not required
- Must be able to work long hours, weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must have a high standard of cleanliness and understanding of food safety practices
- Must be clear and concise with verbal and written communication including emails
- Must understand all kitchen equipment and communicate issues with the engineering department
