Job Summary
Banquet Setup / Houseman responsibilities include ensuring the banquet department’s success by preparing meeting and banquet rooms to guest specifications, including classroom, theater, and U-shaped layouts. Duties involve compiling supplies and equipment, transporting tables, chairs, staging, service ware, linens, and related items from storage to function areas; setting up and breaking down function spaces per guest specs; arranging buffet lines and beverage service; moving and cleaning areas, and maintaining clean service areas. Requires physical ability to lift over 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays. Position located in Morgantown, WV; candidates should be reliable, punctual, with neat appearance and valid work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs on a consistent and repeated basis
- Ability to be on your feet for most of the day
- Availability to work nights, weekends and/or some holidays
- Reliable attendance
- Punctual for all scheduled shifts
- Neat, clean appearance
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit
- Essential Job Functions: set up and break down banquet space, transport equipment, set up tables/chairs/linens/service ware, replenish beverages, maintain clean function areas
