Job Summary
Set up banquets according to Banquet Event Orders, including table draping, silverware placement, and buffet preparation. Serve guests while maintaining station cleanliness and ensuring proper food handling compliance. Break down tables and equipment after service, completing assigned side work and cleaning duties. Greet guests, process payments for a-la-carte orders, and report safety hazards or incidents to management. Attend pre-function meetings and department meetings as scheduled. Work full shifts in a fast-paced environment, maintaining proper uniforms and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- One or more years of related experience
- Alcohol awareness certification
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices
- Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service
- Ability to understand and comply with proper food handling, serving techniques and federal, state and local serving guidelines
- Ability to properly process checks and payments in compliance with policies and procedures
- Ability to timely compile facts/figures, identify and investigate issues and resolve basic matters
- Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures
- Ability to operate a computer, calculator, phone and other office equipment
- Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills
- Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient
- Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction
- Extended standing and walking
- Climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Close vision with or without corrective lenses
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
