Job Summary
Read and understand banquet event orders to provide fine-dining-level food and beverage service. Setup and maintain food and beverage stations, manage inventory, and ensure all event areas remain tidy and organized. Initiate friendly contact with guests to anticipate needs, reset spaces between events, and safely clean and store equipment. Work independently during slower periods while responding to customer inquiries or complaints. Requires ability to lift heavy objects, carry at least eight entrees per tray, and work flexible nights, weekends, and holidays. This role supports the St. Charles Convention Center's events, including galas, corporate functions, and weddings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
- Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred
- Equivalent experience may be substituted
- 6 months to 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
