Job Summary
Read banquet event orders and provide fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests, anticipating needs and maintaining friendly, professional contact. Setup and maintain food and beverage stations across the building, manage station inventory, and ensure all event areas remain tidy and organized. Participate in setup and cleanup of service items, reset spaces for subsequent events, and store equipment appropriately. Work independently during slower times while performing safe work practices and responding to customer inquiries or complaints. This part-time role at Seattle Aquarium pays $22.00-$27.00 hourly, is tip eligible, and includes 401(k) matching. Open until September 18, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
- Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred
- Equivalent experience may be substituted
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
