Job Summary
Read and understand banquet event orders to provide fine-dining-level food and beverage service consistent with standards. Initiate friendly contact with guests, anticipate needs, and maintain inventory for food and beverage stations. Setup and maintain stations throughout the building, participate in setup and cleanup of service items, and ensure all event areas remain tidy. Work independently during slower times while performing safe work practices and responding to customer inquiries. Maintain a customer-focused, professional attitude and ensure accuracy in all tasks. This part-time role at Carolina Club UNC Alumni is tip eligible at $7.25/hour with 401(k) matching, requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, and remains open until November 20, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
- Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred
- Equivalent experience may be substituted
- 6 months to 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
