Job Summary
Read and understand Banquet Event Orders to provide fine dining level food and beverage service consistent with OVG standards. Initiate and maintain friendly contact with guests while anticipating their needs, and setup and maintain food and beverage stations throughout the building. Maintain inventory for all stations and keep event areas tidy, then participate in setup and cleanup of service items. Work independently during slower times and perform safe work practices to ensure a clean environment. This part-time role offers an hourly rate of $11.00 to $14.00 with 401(k) matching, requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and involves flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
- Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
- Must be detail-oriented to ensure that work is accurate and complete.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must have a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
- Strong communications skills.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Must be able to stand for extend periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
- Must be punctual with consistent attendance.
- Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers, members of the business community, and/or regulatory agencies.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED is strongly preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 1+ years of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred.
- Have a high level of social contact.
- Ability to work closely with staff and deal often with patrons.
