Job Summary
Set all tables according to hotel standards and prepare rooms based on the Banquet Event Order (BEO) for assigned functions. Serve food and beverages to guests at all banquet events while reading the BEO and knowing menu items to provide accurate descriptions. Perform preparatory tasks, side work, and clean-up duties, maintaining the banquet storeroom with necessary supplies and ensuring equipment is stored and re-stocked properly. Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents by communicating with management as needed, while following all money handling procedures. Ensure overall guest satisfaction through attentive, friendly, and service-oriented interactions, prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- experience in hotel or a related field
- Flexible and long hours
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
- able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
