Job Summary

Provide excellent professional and friendly customer service to guests in banquet dining and throughout the hotel by promptly responding to their needs and ensuring satisfaction. Complete all side-work and cleaning duties per Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas and function spaces. Inspect facilities for safety and security, resolve guest complaints and disputes, and foster strong relationships with catering, sales, and culinary team members. Maintain proper table settings, service etiquette, and personal appearance while adhering to hotel standards and regulations. Vary schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous serving experience
  • Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
  • Convey information and ideas clearly
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Capacity to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Capability to assimilate complex information and data from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
  • Skilled at understanding financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Individuals must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 25lbs
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50lbs
  • Following proper lifting procedures
  • Must be able to stand for 8-hour shifts
  • Must have organizational skills and quick decision making
  • Vary schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates

Desired Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handlers Certification preferred
