Job Summary
Prepare for and serve guests during banquet functions by reviewing Banquet Event Orders, setting tables with clean linens and glassware, and ensuring proper table complements. Explain menu items, acknowledge guest requests, and maintain a neat station while continuously refilling drinks and clearing tables. Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, assist with buffet and coffee break setups, and break down equipment following sanitation guidelines. Return excess food to the kitchen and complete side tasks like sorting linen and organizing storage areas. Maintain responsible alcohol service certification and adhere to all hotel policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by first day on the job
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must be able to get along well with others
- Maintains responsible alcohol service certification
- Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, to patrons during banquet events
- Is standing in assigned station at least 15 minutes prior to function start time
- Remain up to date with hotel events and guests, as they affect the areas of responsibility
- Employees are responsible for knowing and abiding by all Company, hotel, and departmental policies and procedures
- Active Listening - Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous banquet server experience preferred
