Banquet Manager

Job Summary
Oversees the day-to-day banquet operations at Black Oak Casino Resort, coordinates banquet functions with kitchen, sales and clients, supervises and trains banquet staff, interviews and hires, maintains and analyzes BEOs, assists Catering Sales Manager with quotes and budgeting for events, ensures adherence to budget and staffing levels, ensures guest service standards and regulatory compliance, and maintains knowledge of casino events, promotions, programs and services. The role requires strong interpersonal and written communication skills, certification credentials (Food Handler/ServSafe, Responsible Alcohol Service), a valid California driver license, and the ability to lead a team and manage multiple banquets and budgets.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Must have two years of sales/catering-related experience and/or training specific to banquets and catering
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and 3 to 5 years’ experience
- Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Service certification, or have proof of current certification
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver license and Black Oak Casino driver’s permit
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to achieve guest service standards
- Must have knowledge of regulations governing food preparation and service
- Must be able to work as a team leader
- Must have knowledge of accounting, data processing, audio visual equipment and management
- Must be able to successfully communicate expectations and manage personnel
- Must have experience as a Bartender
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S
- Must possess excellent communication and writing skills
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English
