Job Summary
Organize and instruct banquet set-up, service, and execution by reading Banquet Event Orders and ensuring 100% readiness 15 minutes prior to event start. Set up and break down event areas, clean and refresh spaces, and store equipment properly while maintaining beverage stations. Provide food and beverage service in accordance with health and hotel standards, monitor timeliness, and recover unused foods with culinary staff. Manage safe handling of food, heat sources, and equipment while assisting in other hotel operations as instructed. Complete all food service training within 14 days and essential certifications within 30 days of hire. Work flexible scheduled hours including weekends and holidays in the kitchen, dining, or bar environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- CPR certification
- ABC laws certification
- CARE certification
- Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds overhead
- Non-slip shoes
- Ability to stand for large portion of day/shift
- Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to use hands to manipulate tools or controls
- Ability to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Ability to work in kitchen environment including hot areas, hot tools, hot plates, sharp knives and tools
- Ability to work in dining or event room environment
- Ability to work in bar environment
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as adding, multiplying
- Ability to give and follow directions accurately and efficiently
- Ability to remain calm and organized in times of multiple demands

- Ability to set up event areas as prescribed by BEO
- Ability to ensure 100% readiness a minimum of 15 minutes prior to event start time
- Ability to demonstrate attentiveness and responsiveness to guests needs
- Ability to insure follow-through and completion
- Ability to always demonstrate excellent guest and team member relations
- Ability to work with all departments
- Ability to coordinate well with culinary, sales and other departments
- Ability to effectively communicate with hotel guests and clients utilizing courtesy, tact and diplomacy

- Ability to work with culinary staff to recover unused / unserved foods
- Ability to complete all assigned pre- and post-event tasks
- Ability to ensure safe and correct storage of equipment

- Ability to report any maintenance needs to insure that facilities, furnishings and equipment are maintained in a like new condition
- Ability to enhance skills and knowledge to become a more productive and effective team member
- Ability to perform assigned tasks in other areas within the Food & Beverage department
- Ability to assist in areas of the hotel outside of typical work areas
- Ability to be on his/her feet for large portion of day/shift
