Job Summary
Season and cook food according to recipes while maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen in full accordance with State and Federal Health Regulations. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients, regulate oven and grill temperatures, and verify prepared food meets quality and quantity requirements. Deep clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, ensure proper food rotation, and setup, operate, and tear down off-site events. Organize, clean, and maintain catering equipment and storage areas. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned while following all safety rules and department policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One (1) year experience in institutional food preparation including broiler, sauté, fryer
- Thorough knowledge of all institutional kitchen equipment
- Ability to read, use and create recipes
- Knowledge of proper preparation technique
- Ability to memorize certain recipes to ensure consistency
- Outstanding interpersonal communications skills
- Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to quality
- Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
