Job Summary
Banquet Captain responsible for meeting and greeting guests, coordinating with event hosts, ensuring all information on the Banquet Event Order (BEO) is accurate, and overseeing setup, cleanliness, and supplies for banquet functions. Oversees all aspects of assigned banquet activities, ensures food counters are ready on schedule, responds to guest requests quickly, plans event flow, directs and motivates banquet staff, conducts pre-shift/pre-function meetings, and coordinates details with banquet and kitchen teams to meet contractual standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours
- Ability to carry trays of 25+ pounds
- Ability to work under time pressure constraints with a positive attitude
- Knowledge of various banquet and food service techniques and standards
- Prior experience in supervisory roles
