Banquet Captain

Job Summary

Act as Manager On Duty during events, guiding the banquet team through setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining food, beverage, and guest service standards. Tend to guest requests and complaints professionally, communicate with staff to execute Banquet Event Orders, and collaborate with the kitchen to meet client visions. Assist with setting up banquet spaces, audio-visual equipment, and displays, while facilitating communication across departments for food counts and timing. Monitor service trends, address issues, and ensure all safety regulations are adhered to. Maintain positive relationships with team members, clients, and vendors, and assist with overall audio/video services and equipment upkeep. Complete projects assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager, participate in ongoing training, and attend department meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to travel to and from function sites
  • Must have a valid NH driver's license
  • Must have a favorable driving record
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must be able to pass driver record check
  • Non-slip shoes
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to lift or transport objects weighing up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand to a significant degree
  • Ability to reach, handle, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, stoop, talk, hear, see, and smell
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to two years related hospitality experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Leadership experience

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations
