Job Summary
The Banquet Captain will supervise staff and coordinate banquet events, overseeing pre-work, setup, service, and teardown to ensure adherence to the banquet event order (BEO) standards. Responsibilities include leading pre-event staff meetings, monitoring events to ensure flawless service, assisting servers and bartenders, addressing client needs during events, coordinating post-event breakdown, providing feedback to staff, training on standards and tasks, monitoring trainer activities, and recapping events with Meeting Planners or clients. Requires strong hospitality experience, F&B banquet background, supervisory/trainer experience, and certifications in basic food safety and Texas alcohol beverage compliance; proficiency with Excel/Outlook and collaboration tools is expected. The role is based at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center in Westlake, TX, with an evening shift and some weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in the hospitality industry required.
- F&B Banquet experience desirable.
- Experience as a departmental trainer or supervisor preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Microsoft Teams and OneNote experience desirable.
- Knowledge of F&B Point of Sale system preferred.
- Basic Food Safety Certification and Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission Certification required within 30 days of starting and must be re-certified as needed.
