Job Summary
Supervise and manage banquet events at Austin Country Club to ensure smooth operations while prioritizing guest comfort and safety. Set up staff shifts, coordinate food and beverage service by liaising with kitchen staff, and monitor inventory for necessary supplies and equipment. Run the floor during events, resolve guest requests or complaints promptly, and maintain venue cleanliness while adhering to all safety regulations. Schedule training in customer service and serving etiquette for your team. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience as a banquet captain or in a similar position
- Physically fit with good stamina for tasks such as moving and lifting furniture as well as standing for prolonged periods of time
- Willingness to work long hours and irregular shifts
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to balance multiple tasks while demonstrating good time management in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of other staff members
- Ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor even in stressful situations
- Ability to put your best foot forward and present yourself in a clean and professional manner
