Job Summary

Monitor and maintain bankrupt accounts across core banking, collection, case management, and PACER systems to ensure accurate status tracking. Process incoming petitions, 341 notices, discharges, proof of claims, and motion filings while reviewing non-dischargeable debt and managing trustee payments. Make strategic recommendations for case dispositions and charge-offs, ensuring all court deadlines are met and federal bankruptcy procedures are followed. Respond to inquiries from members, attorneys, and regulators regarding fraud, forgery, and theft investigations. Assist with month-end reconciliation and provide testimony in support of the credit union during trials.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • 3 years of bankruptcy experience
  • Strong bankruptcy background and knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations within Consumer and Mortgage portfolios
  • Experience working with investors such as Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac and understanding requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members, clients, and managers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Excellent written and oral skills to effectively communicate professionally with clients, members, and staff of various levels
  • Thorough understanding of CFPB, OCC, FDCPA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA guidelines/regulations
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Must have excellent written and oral skills to effectively communicate professionally with clients, members, and staff of various levels
  • Strong analytical skills required, with a high degree of accuracy
