Job Summary
Experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal needed to support attorneys in Chapter 11 matters in our Miami office. Responsibilities include managing Chapter 11 cases from inception to conclusion; preparing, filing, and reviewing petitions, motions, pleadings, and affidavits; conducting legal research; reviewing financial statements and schedules; maintaining and organizing case files; e-filing with federal and state bankruptcy courts; coordinating hearings, depositions, and meetings; communicating with clients and preparing them for meetings and hearings; collaborating with attorneys and support staff; and assisting in the preparation of financial reports and bankruptcy schedules. Requires a Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate and a minimum of 3 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience, with Chapter 11 experience highly preferred. Proficiency in bankruptcy software, case management systems, and MS Office is expected, along with strong organizational, research, and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience, with specific experience in Chapter 11 cases highly preferred
- Proficiency in bankruptcy software and case management systems
- Strong knowledge of federal and state bankruptcy laws and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
