Job Summary
Banker Analyst in JPMorgan's Mid-Cap Financial Sponsors Group focuses on prospecting, pitching, and executing transactions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. Responsibilities include supporting client meetings and due diligence, analyzing businesses, assessing strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions, assisting in deal execution including client advisory work and negotiations of legal documents, coordinating with internal teams to close deals, and generating buyer intelligence for M&A sell-sides and private placements. The role involves strategic dialogue with private business owners, facilitating introductions to potential investors, and collaborating with sponsor coverage and product bankers to track investment strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of related experience in financial services, investment banking, commercial banking, or private equity
- FINRA Series 79, Series 63, and SIE required (or must be obtained within the first 180 days of employment)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong work ethic, motivation, and ability to collaborate across teams
- Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities
- Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact
