Job Summary
Ward administrator responsible for clerical and administrative support to ward staff, including appointments, results filing, patient records, admission/discharge details, allocating tasks, and communicating with patients and visitors. Duties include inputting registration data, maintaining the Nurses Register Board, arranging follow-up appointments, managing patient notes, and ensuring confidentiality and information governance. Requires strong literacy/numeracy, GDPR knowledge, IT competence, excellent communication, telephone skills, and teamwork. Role is bank/zero-hours with shifts 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and occasional weekends, based in Macclesfield, UK.
Required Qualifications
- Good standard of secondary education with demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
- Track record of successful delivery in a similar role, in an office and / or customer service environment
- Knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act
- Computer/IT literate
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident telephone manner with the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers at all levels
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
