Job Summary
Provide care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, adhering to therapeutic, trauma-informed policies and procedures. Contribute to assessment processes, support programmes, and key person systems while ensuring accurate recording of information. Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies as necessary, promote structure and routine, and maintain a safe, hygienic environment. Work within a shift system including 14-hour shifts followed by 10-hour sleepovers, and conduct health and safety checks. Participate in planning meetings, ongoing training, and safeguarding reporting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of working in a residential children's home or other relevant experience
- Eligible for SSSC registration and PVG membership for work with children and adults
- Full manual UK driving licence and eligible for car insurance for company vehicles
- Ability to work shifts including evenings, sleepovers, and weekends
- Possess or be willing to work towards SVQ 3 and HNC in social care or other relevant subject
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understand safeguarding and child protection
