Job Summary
Provide therapeutic care and support to young people in care up to age 21, ensuring a safe, hygienic environment and promoting their participation in routine. Contribute to assessment processes, attend planning and review meetings, and maintain accurate quality recording of information. Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies as necessary while conducting health and safety checks. Work within a shift system including 14-hour shifts followed by 10-hour sleepovers, requiring flexibility for evenings, weekends, and unpredictable tasks. This role is part of Greenleaf's residential childcare service for solo placements, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to help young people achieve positive outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of working in a residential children's home or other relevant experience
- Eligible for SSSC registration and PVG membership for work with children and adults
- Full manual UK driving licence and eligible for car insurance for company vehicles
- Ability to work shifts including evenings, sleepovers, and weekends
- Possess or be willing to work towards SVQ 3 and HNC in social care or other relevant subject
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understand safeguarding and child protection
