Job Summary
Operate horizontal and/or vertical bandsaws to cut metal alloys like steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium according to production requirements. Read cut lists, blueprints, and job orders to determine dimensions, then measure and mark raw stock using precision tools. Select appropriate blades, adjust machine settings for optimal performance, and perform first-piece inspections to monitor accuracy. Maintain equipment cleanliness, change blades, and lubricate machinery while safely handling, stacking, and labeling cut materials. Comply with all safety protocols, including mandatory PPE, and keep the workspace organized. Work the 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM at a fast-paced, team-oriented metal shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience operating a bandsaw in a metalworking or fabrication environment
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools
- Solid understanding of shop math and cutting tolerances
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety
- Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Use of hands and manual dexterity for precise machining and tool work
- Mandatory use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection)
