Band Saw Operator

Set up and operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut metal stock and raw materials to size, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys. Read job travelers, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to determine cutting requirements, then measure and mark materials using precision tools. Select proper blades based on material type, monitor saw performance, and adjust feed rates, blade tension, and cutting angles as needed. Perform routine machine checks, blade changes, and lubrication to maintain equipment, ensuring all cut parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Identify and report material defects or equipment malfunctions while maintaining an organized work area and complying with safety standards. Assist with loading and unloading material throughout the shop. This role supports our machining and fabrication operations running efficiently and safely.
