Job Summary
Band Instructor needed at Immanuel School of Music to teach Band classes, develop a written curriculum for each semester, and provide a nurturing environment for students and families.Responsibilities include setting up and tearing down rooms, teaching Essential Elements Curriculum, selecting concert music, fostering rhythm and note-reading skills, and encouraging student progression. Communicate with parents via weekly email, maintain attendance and class rosters, and participate in two to three concerts per academic year. Additional duties include attending parent meetings, promoting equipment maintenance, and upholding school policies. Required: college degree in primary instrument or music education, at least five years of professional-performance experience, Virtus training, and Child Protection Policy training. The role emphasizes collaboration with ISM staff and leadership, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Work is performed in-person at the Central Campus/Boone Co. Campus with typical Monday–Friday hours and occasional weekend activities.
Required Qualifications
- College performance degree in primary instrument or college music education degree
- Five (5) years of performance in a professional organization
- Virtus trained and up to date with Virtus articles
- Child Protection Policy Trained (Darkness to Light)
