Job Summary
Band 7 Mammographer position in Leicester focused on delivering high-quality breast imaging services. Responsibilities include performing a range of mammographic examinations (screening and diagnostic), operating specialized mammography equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety, obtaining accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning, and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of care and adherence to safety protocols. Requires a Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, current HCPC registration, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience (preferably at Band 7 level); postgraduate qualification in Mammography is preferred. The role emphasizes independent work within a team and a commitment to patient confidentiality. The working pattern is 3 days per week in Leicester with an hourly rate of £34-£35.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with the HCPC
- Postgraduate qualification in Mammography is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mammographer, ideally at Band 7 level
- Proficiency in using advanced mammography equipment and techniques
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and breast imaging protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Commitment to providing high standards of patient care and maintaining confidentiality
