Job Summary
Undertake accredited final accuracy checking of dispensed medicines in accordance with local policies and procedures while supporting the safe and effective delivery of pharmacy services across clinical areas. Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision to maintain high standards of medicines management, governance, and compliance with legislation and Trust policies. Contribute to medicines optimisation and patient safety initiatives through collaborative work with pharmacists, technicians, and multidisciplinary teams, while maintaining accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician (or Pharmacist)
- Current and recognised Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification or documented assurance of competency
- Proven experience working within an NHS or hospital pharmacy setting
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy procedures, medicines management, and patient safety principles
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care
