Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the peri-anesthesia department for ambulatory otolaryngology and ophthalmology procedures. Manages patient assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care across pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery. Collaborates with an interprofessional team to ensure patient safety and education, supports care transitions, and maintains standards of nursing care. Role is full-time with a set 4-day schedule (06:00–15:30) with no on-call, weekends, or holidays. Nursing pathway supports professional development and advancement within the BJWCH Ballas Surgery Center. Requires Nursing Diploma/Associate’s or RN with Bachelor's degree; prior ICU, ED, or Critical Care RN experience is valued.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's or RN with Bachelor's degree
- 4 days per week schedule 06:00-15:30
- No Call No Weekends No Holidays
- Peri-anesthesia experience or training
- Ambulatory surgery center experience in otolaryngology and ophthalmology
- ICU/ED or Critical Care RN experience desired
- Ability to provide direct patient care and education
- Team-based care and collaboration with interprofessional team
- Nursing responsibilities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
