Job Summary
Balancer Operator on 2nd shift is responsible for operating and maintaining a balance machine that measures the weight of products and materials. Responsibilities include balancing paper machine rolls to tolerances established by work order, supervisor or engineer; looking for process improvements and reporting to supervisor; making balancing decisions on rolls based on experience and available information; transferring weights into shells, and drilling, tapping, and bolting into place; accessing inside of rolls or components to transfer weights. Requires basic computer knowledge to operate balancer, mathematical ability including trigonometry to determine angles, deflections, weight transfers and vector splitting, and knowledge of machining processes with a fundamental understanding of balancing; ability to read blueprints and lift up to 30 pounds. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred; Vocational School graduate in machine shop practices, or equivalent.

- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
